Art between Politics and Tradition

Karim Barka is born 1990 in Tiznit, South of Morocco. He studied at the applied arts faculty of Tiznit and at the National Institute of Fine Arts in Tetouan. He participates at various exhibitions in Morokko an d theSenegal. Working with various media including drawing, installation, photography and video, all his projects are linked by using the elements of live (earth, air, fire, water) and include a longtime process. Barkas artwork is treading with conditions of human being: The body in the relation between time and space, the traditional and cultural imprint, life viewed by a poltical and sociological background. With an actual brisance Karim Barka explores the frontiers between the self and the others.
